Texas Historical Sites Atlas

National Register of Historic Places
The national Register of Historic Places is the nation's official list of cultural resources worthy of preservation. Authorized under the National Historic Presrevation Act of 1966, the Natinal Register is part of a national program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate and protect our historic and archeological resources.
National Register Information System
The NRIS contains information on more than 80,00 properties and includes a searchable index of more than two million terms. Web, Telnet and FTP searches are available.
National Trust for Historic Preservation
The National Trust of Historic Presrevation is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the irreplaceable.
