Topics addressed will include historically sympathetic and green choices for windows, interior finishings, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, reclaimed historic materials, Austin Energy rebates, and more. Speakers and Panelists will include: Mary McLeod, Austin Energy Green Building Program Michelle Paris-White, Homeowner of Historic Home with Green Updates - Case Study Bill Moore, Wm. T. Moore Construction, Inc. (contractor for This Old House, Austin Segment) David Webber, AIA, Webber + Studio (architect for This Old House, Austin Segment) Part I was held on March 30, 2009. Description: We'll introduce the concepts of green building and sustainable preservation. Well explore decisions on replacing performance systems and building components, how to recycle or find reclaimed materials, funding sources to pay for improvements, and many other vital topics to those considering making their historic home more green.
